Cedric, I can easily make the Game Creation Worksheet form fillable if the FATE crew wish. All I ask for is to get credit for it. 🙂

Just want to say thanks for making these available free!! I've got a copy on my kindle & tablet & I'm headed to the game store now for the paperback & some dice. I love that I could give the game a shot before buying. It shows well-placed confidence in your awesome creation. Thanks!

Awesome gesture, making the downloadables free. My husband and I just discovered this system. We bought a hard copy of Fate Accelerated last month, and are considering buying a few more copies, or maybe the Fate Core book (or both). The design is lovely, and the books are totally worth having.

How do you fold the pocket mod book?

  • Posted January 1, 2016 at 12:03 PM

I believe that's a standard format used by the Pocket Mod community. I'm not personally a member of that community but I suspect they can be found online. I'll google.

Is there a chance of having a PDF with a full page of the Fate Bookmark available here? It's incredibly useful as a reference but when I demoed Fate I only got one, and ended up scanning and printing it again for my group when I ran Fate myself.

A PDF guarantee for bookmarks …. hmm, we'll have to look into that AuthorX, I'm not sure the format it is in.

Thank you, that will be a great resource to point new players or GMs to.

(For others, I've found the best way to print a PDF that size in Adobe Acrobat Reader is to set Pages to "1,1,1,1,2,2,2,2", Orientation to Landscape, and multiple pages per sheet to 4 by 1.)

Is there a YouTube video like…Fate for dummies tutorial? I am a visual learner…and I've never played anything like this before.

I love all the resources that Evil Hat has made available to the FoF (Fans of FATE). However, there is something I'd love to see that I don't. If I had any idea how to do it, I'd make it myself, but unfortunately, I don't have a clue.

The Character Sheet for FATE takes up less than half of a standard sized piece of paper, leaving the bottom half open for lots of goodies. Any chance that someone out there has come up with a full-page Character Sheet that uses the bottom half for quick-reference information (like what is found on the Cheat Sheet on p. 292-293 of the FATE Core Rulebook or the back of the FATE Core Bookmark)?

Something like that could be very valuable when introducing new players to the system…and save a lot of paper for people who'd normally have to print them out separately.

Just a note – Fate Boost Clarification link in Live Errata document is 404'd. Seems the whole domain is gone.

    Hi Trevor,

Thanks for the heads up. Since that was in the "not quite errata" section, I just removed the link.

    Best,

    Sean

"Link rot" (when domains, webpages and blog posts disappear) is a real problem. To counter it, I'd suggest you provide an alternative archive link for each link to a page/resource you don't own. Finding the Archive.org page is easy, you just have to put 'https://web.archive.org/' in front of any URL and the website will redirect to the right archive, like this one for example:

About the major milestone for inceasing the skill cap does it need a skill point to do it?
Its because that some people are probably not sure about it, for me it seems that it don't course of the wording.
I would really like to know but couldn't find out anything about this…

  • Posted February 5, 2020 at 8:04 PM

David I assume you're talking about page 260 of Fate Core. Reading between the lines there I'd determine that you absolutely need a skill point in order to advance a skill, therefore advancing a skill past the cap costs a skill point. Consider this: "Achieving a major milestone confers the benefits of a significant milestone and a minor milestone." The significant milestone benefits include gaining one skill point. You would use this point gained as part of the major milestone to advance a skill past the cap.
